Google Nest Thermostat 12V

Hi,

I'd like to connect a 12V power supply to my Google Nest Thermostat (2020 model) due to intermittent power. Should I connect that to the C (common) wire?

Do not connect a 12v power supply to any Nest thermostat. It requires 24VAC
