Google Nest Thermostat E is on "Continue Setup at app..." and google home wont detect it

Hi All,

I just bought the new Nest thermostat E, I first connected it to the app and it worked fine but for some reason there was no heating option, only cooling. So I cleaned all the copper wires and factory reset the Nest Thermostat. After that, I have not been able to connect my phone to the device again, everytime it is looking for the device it just fails, I am not sure what is going on.

I have tried taking out the batteries and plugging it on and off again. I have tried deleting and resintalling the app but nothing. Please, any assistance would be amazing.

Hi @Robert9208 - I think you need to remove the device from your home within the Google Home app - is it even listed in there?

Hi @MrVacca , nope, nothing is listed there. I even tried creating a different location and tried adding and nothing.

Hi folks,

@MrVacca, thanks for the help!

@Robert9208, thanks for reaching out. I'm sorry to hear that you're having an issue with your Nest Thermostat. I'd love to know more about this and I have a few questions:

  • What's the exact message that you're getting on the app?
  • What device are you using to set it up?
  • Could you share a photo of the wiring of your Nest Thermostat?

Looking forward to your response.

Thanks,

Edward
