I live in South Florida where the only heating is heat strips in the Air Handler. I have installed the Nest 3rd Gen Learning Thermostat and the AC is working but I cannot get the heat to come on. When setting up the system, the thermostat asked questions about a heat pump, but I do not have one. How do I properly set up, so the thermostat will run the A/C and Heat?

If you have it, can you post a picture of the original thermostat's wiring?
If the camera icon isn't present yet, you can use the Igmur.com Upload site and post the link it provides here.

Thermostat replaced with nest
wiring for 2nd unit non smart thermostat@Patrick_Caezza thanks for the response. I have attached 2 pictures the one with horizontal wiring is the thermostat I replaced with a nest, This is a thermostat I previously installed some years ago and seemed to work fine. The difference in my Nest wiring is that the blue wire goes into C on the Nest per what I could online yesterday to provide constant power to the Nest. I installed the Nest and the AC works fine, however I am not sure if it is really turning on the heat. If I select heat the compressor shuts off and the Air Handler runs. The Air does warm up, but it is 90 degrees here. I did not really smell the burning smell you get when the heat strips fire up, which has me questioning if the heat is actually turning on, I configured the Nest with Electric, forced air heat.
The second picture is of a thermostat that was recently installed by my AC guy for a separate unit from the same OEM. Everything including the heat works on this one. The difference is this is not a smart thermostat that connects to WIFI, etc. You can see that on this one the blue wire is not connected to anything.
I would appreciate your thoughts.
