I installed a Google Nest Thermostat yesterday, the installation was a breeze, however I can’t get the device to connect to the my existing Google Home. The Nest is working fine, heat is great and the adjustments work fine I just can’t get it to connect to the app-
1. I have the most up to date version of the app.. I’ve also uninstalled and reinstalled the app to my phone (also on the latest IOS version). I’ve powered up and down my phone.
2. I’ve done a full factory reset of the the Nest.
3. I’ve attempted to add the device to the home app on both the Google Mesh and traditional router (ensuring my phone was on the matching network each time).
When I try to use the QR code, I get a check mark and it takes me to the Home- Home Screen and nothing happens at all. When I manually add the system provided code, it attempts to load- cycling for several minutes before saying it couldn’t connect.
I’m about at my wits end here.

Has anyone found a solution? I had to move my Nest to a new WIFI and when I tried to get it going again this error occurred. It said reset to default so I did and I still can't get past this step. The above mentioned article is of no use, I'm stuck at trying to connect just after scanning QE code. I have tried all the suggestions here and many more from googling.

Rick66 here. The issue I had was that I had a wire that somehow disconnected in the furnace or wasn't connected. As I was only doing a WIFI remap I was telling the setup procedure that I had an already installed Nest. Once I did the full setup and didn't mention the disconnected wire its worked. I don't want to reconnect the wire as I don't know if was that way from the get go. A friend did the original setup 😉
Sorry I don't have more but maybe this will help someone somehow!
Cheers and good luck
