Hey everyone. I have a fairly recent heating and cooling system with seven wires. I have an Rc, G, W, W2, Y, Y2 and C. Online it says it’s compatible with google best. When I go to set it up in the app it says my system is not compatible. Anyone have any idea why? Here is a picture of my
current wire set up on a Honeywell.
-Thanks in advance!!

Is this a Heat Pump system? Does the outdoor unit run in winter to heat the house?
If it is a heat pump you read the bottom row screw labels not the top row on old thermostat so you need to know the type of system you have in the house.

Thanks for the response, it is not a heat pump system.

You have 2 stage Heating W1 and W2,and 2 stage Cooling Y1 and Y2
Only the Nest Learning model can work with this system.

That’s the type of thermostat I bought, I have a third generation nest learning thermostat.

OK then you are good to go just match up the same wires to the Nest.
Put Red to RC (no jumper needed to the RH like the old tstat).

The issue is when I put in the wires I have the google set up app is telling me my wires are not compatible.

I just tested the compatibility checker and it says Nest Learning model works.
You have to Enter
RC C W1 W2 Y1 Y2 G (7 wires)

Hello there,
I wanted to stop by and see how I could help.
Thanks for assisting here, @Houptee.
@DoubleA17, If you have the Nest Learning Thermostat 3rd generation, make sure to use the Nest App to set it up. Also, it should no longer ask which wires you have as it will detect the connected wires automatically. Could you give it another shot to set it up? Please let us know how it goes.
Regards,
Mark
