Google nest thermostat not connecting to wifi

Do ya'll know how to connect a google nest thermostat to the google home app? It says to find a code which is at the back of the thermostat but its already on the wall. What can I do??

If it is indeed the Nest Thermostat (2020), setup in the Google Home app, the QR code and setup code are physically printed on the back of the thermostat. You will need to pull thermostat off its base to see the QR code and setup code.

Get started with your Nest Thermostat

If it is a Nest Learning Thermostat or Nest Thermostat E, setup in the Nest app, the QR code and setup code are shown on the thermostat display during setup.
