H71 error Nest 3rd Generation - no lights on heat link

H71 error appeared Friday morning.

There are no LEDs showing on the Heatlink. I have tried holding the Nest button and disconnected power but neither helps. It looks as though the Heatlink is dead. No heating as a result.  Product purchased March 2020. It appears this is a common issue... please help!

Hey @jamesthorn,

I'm sorry to hear about this as I know how frustrating being left without heating is. I'd like to help you out with this and I'll kindly ask you to answer the following questions:

  • What type of Nest thermostat do you have?
Did the issue happen during installation or after installation? Was it installed by a Nest Pro or by a regular installer?
Does the boiler activate when calling for heat by pressing the Heat Link's button to activate Manual Mode?
Have you had any recent power cuts in your area? If yes, has the power been restored?
Have you recently had service or maintenance on your electrical, plumbing, or heating system?
Have you tried any troubleshooting steps before contacting us?
  • How many thermostats do you have?
