Heat link isn’t connecting to thermostat

Allanr

Heat link and thermostat disconnected all of a sudden with a h71 code. Have rest the thermostat and tried to reset the heat link, also moved thermostat near to the heat link but still won’t connect,  only got the amber light on the heat link. Will operate the heating manually but can’t get them to connect.  Any ideas.  System less than 6 months old

You can try resetting the Heat Link by pressing the button and holding for about 30 seconds, when blue light goes to a pulse, release the button. Do that twice.

Check on the display in Tech - Heat link, that you have the correct entry key number that matches your Heat Link [entry key can be found bottom of the lid by the screw] Should the number be correct, go back to the menu, and click Reset Pairing.

Should the entry key be different, you will have to click Replace Heat Link, and follow the instructions.

Unfortunately no matter how much I press the button or how long the best I can get is the orange light to flash slowly. No blue light no matter what

Hey @Allanr and @Chris12345,

Thanks for reaching out. I'd love to help. If you press and hold the Nest button on the Heat Link for 30 seconds, you should see a blue light coming up. This won't happen if you power it via USB. Can you confirm how your Heat Link is powered?

I did manage to fix this. I continued to hold until the blue light was blinking, I selected the option and input the code on the bottom of the heat link, but it didn’t work. I then restarted again and bingo.
not sure that’s how it’s supposed to happen butttt…..🤷🏼‍♂️🤷🏼‍♂️

Thanks for getting back to me, @Chris12345. I'm glad to hear you fixed it. Sounds like simply restarting the thermostat did the trick.
