Heat won’t turn on

Heat was working and now will not turn on. The AC works so I moved the Y1 and W1 and heat mode came on but blows cold air?

Hello BradJones,

I'm sorry for the trouble this may have caused you, and I appreciate that you've tried some steps. Let's sort this out.

Switching the heating and cooling wires between their terminals could be temporary, but let's isolate:

  1. If the wires are still switched, go to the temperature menu and select Cool.
  2. Call for cooling.
  3. Check to see if the system runs. Some systems take time to start up, so wait up to 5 minutes for the heater to activate.
  4. If the heat still isn't turning on, move the wires back to their individual terminals.
  5. Reset the thermostat to its factory defaults, then set it up again.
  6. Activate heat.
    1. If the same issue persists, install your old thermostat, if you still have one.

Note: turn off the power from your HVAC system at the breaker before touching the wires.

Please keep me posted on how it goes.

Best regards,

Mark
