I successfully added a new Nest Thermostat however when I was setting it up the Nest App forced me to the Google Home App to complete the installation. Everything worked and the Thermostat was added to the google home app. The problem is I manage all my devices in the Nest App including nest protects and this new Thermostat will not show up in the Nest App. This is aggravating to say the least as now I have to use the nest app to see the home protects and I have to use the Google App to see both thermostats. There must be a solution for this? How can I get all the Thermostats to show in the nest app?

Hey folks,
Sorry for to hear about your experience but thanks for posting. I'm afraid that our new Nest Thermostats are only compatible with the Google Home app and the Nest Protect smoke and CO alarms only work with the Nest app.
Our long term plan is to use the Google Home app as the one place you can control all of your favorite Nest and other smart home devices, as well as Google Assistant. In the near future, we’ll allow users to set up previous Nest devices and have full control in the Home app. Keep an eye out on this Community page or follow our social channels for news and updates.
Best,
Melba
