Hello everyone!

I'm trying to install but wanted to check with the community to help me get unstuck. The existing system is a Honeywell and the wiring image is linked above. The printed labels on the plate do not always match the actual wire color.

W1=W

W2=Blue

G=G

R=R

B=no wire

O=no wire

Y2/Y1=Y (same wire is connected to both terminals)

Hi DougDebug,

Thanks for posting here in the Community forum and for showing interest in our Nest Thermostats. Fortunately, your thermostat wires are compatible with our Nest Learning Thermostat 3rd generation and should be wired to the Nest Learning Thermostat base as follows:

  • W1 (W) is connected to the white wire.
  • W2 is connected to the blue wire.
  • G is connected to the green wire.
  • R is connected to the red wire.
  • Y2/Y1 is connected to the yellow wire.

Also, here's a guide for the installation and setup of a Nest Learning Thermostat. Please note that it's important to exercise caution during the installation process, and if you're uncertain about any steps, it's recommended to consult a professional HVAC technician or refer to the manufacturer's documentation for your specific thermostat model.

If you have any specific questions or need further assistance during the installation process, feel free to ask!

Let us know if that helps.

Best,

Zoe

Thank you for replying! I don't see anything on the Nest Thermostat box that says "3rd Gen".  I didn't order the Nest device myself but it was newly ordered a few weeks ago.

Thank you so much for taking the time to respond to my question!
