Turned off ipv6 and voila!

After almost 6 months of my Nest thermostat and Nest Hello doorbell not connecting to my Google Nest or Home apps I have finally cracked the code!

I’m in the UK using a full fibre Community Fibre 3GBps connection. On a desperate hunch, I turned off IPv6 in the admin settings of my Technicolor router and both devices reconnected instantly, I can’t believe it was so simple. No amount of splitting WiFi bands, long phone calls with Community Fibre, or poring through Google forums, or following Google reset instructions on repeat cracked this. Sharing so someone else somewhere doesn’t have to go through this headache just to have a working doorbell and thermostat! Ryan x
