House keeps switching to “away” which sets my thermostat to eco mode. This happens while I’m home and I end up freezing before I realize what happened. I have turned off all presence sharing for all of our Google devices, and I do not allow Google to track the location of my phone. Can someone help me? I’ve called Google support twice and they haven’t been able to fix the problem. Thank you.

That didn’t work but I was able to fix the issue on my own. I removed our thermostat from our Google home app, and then reset the thermostat to factory settings. When I set it up again, I did NOT setup the home/away assist. I guess if you bypass it then it won’t change the temperatures on the thermostat when the home or away status changes over.

We have a Nest Thermostat that uses the Google Home app, not the Nest app. Any suggestions for that? On our old nest-e it was an easy fix in the nest app, but this one is causing lots of frustration.

Hi SRB123,
Thanks for reaching out and we're sorry for the delay.
We could check the Home Away Routines and verify some settings in the Google Home app. You could change the device action or the enable or disable phone location for presence sensing.
I hope it helps and let us know how it goes by replying to this thread.
Best regards,
Ryan

Hi SRB123,
Thanks for the update and it's great to hear that you were able to set up your Nest thermostat.
You can always enable the Home Away Assist feature and learn more about it by going on this link.
Also, we'll check the behavior of your thermostat for the next couple of days and let us know how it goes.
Best regards,
Ryan
