I own a nest smart thermostat and can't connect to a temperature sensor...

I currently own a nest smart thermostat and I've been having trouble connecting a temperature sensor to it. I'm also not able to connect my nest smart thermostat to the nest app I can only connect it to the Google home app. If I try to connect my temperature sensor to my thermostat the Google home app will send me to the nest app and the nest app will send me to the Google home app. So I'm at a loss being it just keeps putting me in an infinite loop...

Sounds like you have the Google Nest Thermostat since you said you had to use the Home App to set it up.

The bad news is the Nest Temperature Sensors are not compatible with the Google Nest Thermostat.

The first question is which model Nest you have.  https://support.google.com/googlenest/answer/9246551?hl=en

If you have a Learning or an E model, you can use the Nest app and you can add a temperature sensor to your setup.  If on the other hand you have a Nest Thermostat (not Learning not E, just plain Nest Thermostat), you can only control it with the Google Home app, not the Nest app, and the temperature sensor will not work with it.
