I had a wifi issue at home, and while the thermostat said it was connected, the app reported it offline. I stupidly followed the instructions to remove the device and readd it and now nothing connects. It won’t let me sign in to home.nest.com because it doesn’t give the link to sign in with my Google id, never get a reset password email, and it’s all botched.
This is really disappointingly difficult coming from a Google tool…and I work in tech. It should be a no brainer to keep these in sync or reset/change the wifi option without a whole reinstall.

Sorry to hear about your experience and I completely understand how you feel. I want to dig deeper into this.
To confirm, are you signing to https://bit.ly/3gW4i8w or your Nest app using a migrated Google account or an old non-migrated Nest one? Also, when you said that you don't see the option to sign in using your Google id, does it mean that you don't see the 'Sign in Google' option? If yes, have you tried signing in using the Nest app on your mobile device instead?
