The Trane thermostat has:

Blue to C

Red to R

White to W

yellow to Y2

The orange wire was not being used-

Currently with nest I’m trying:

yellow to Y1

Green to G

white to W1

blaxk to W2/Aux

blue to C

Red to Rh

i cannot power up Nest Gen 4 with this configuration

I appreciate any input.

Ignore the wire colors and only use the terminal labels.

Why did you connect W2 when it isn't present on the original thermostat?

Post a picture of the original thermostat's wiring here if you have it

Here is the original placement in Trane block.

And this is how I have wires connected currently. No power.

Hi Tumblecreekbern,

Thanks for reaching out and sending the pictures. I understand that your Nest Learning Thermostat 4th Generation isn't powering on. I know this can be frustrating, but don't worry, I'm here to help!

I recommend checking the RH terminal connection. From the picture you sent, it looks like the RH terminal might not be fully pushed in. The RH terminal is crucial for receiving power.

Let me know if this helps! If you have any other questions, please don't hesitate to ask.

Regards,

Manuel
