There are 6 pins for 6 wires labeled N, L, V1, LOW, MED, HI. Can anyone tell me if I can install the nest thermostat with these wires

Hello OAA,

Thanks for reaching out here in the Google Nest Community. I'd be happy to take a look into this for you.

Typically, Nest Thermostats are compatible with a variety of HVAC systems. Before proceeding with the installation, here's a general guide to help you:

  • N (Neutral): The Nest Thermostat usually doesn't require a neutral wire. Some older systems might not have a neutral wire, and Nest Thermostats are designed to work without it.
  • L (Line or Live): This is the power supply wire. Nest Thermostats usually work with 24V systems. Ensure that your system provides a compatible voltage.
  • V1, LOW, MED, HI: These labels likely correspond to different fan speed settings or stages of heating/cooling. Nest Thermostats can handle multi-speed systems, but it's crucial to correctly match these wires with the appropriate terminals on the Nest Thermostat.

Accurate wiring is crucial for the proper functioning of your Nest Thermostat and HVAC system. I'd suggest contacting a local HVAC technician for the configuration.

Let us know if you have more questions.

Regards,
Mark
