Is my system compatible?

Hi,

I recently ordered a Google Nest
Thermostat - Sand for my ac system. I installed but at no point did it cycle the compressor so I rolled back to my Honeywell. In total I have 6 wires (unused wire labeled C behind the plate) and a heat pump without any sort of dual stage. It's entirely possible that I was impatient with the 5 minute cycle delay as I tried switching o/b setting as soon as I turned the system on. Picture below

 thanks in advance!

Hello Danimalrex,

Thanks for reaching out to the Google Nest Community Forum. I'd be happy to take a look at this for you.

Your Heat Pump system with its existing wiring setup is Nest-compatible. With the spare wire, have you tried connecting it to the C terminal? If you haven't yet, try installing it and gathering the power readouts in the Technical Info settings or in the Equipment settings with and without the Common wire. This is to see if the power changes and if it needs one to provide additional power.

Keep me posted.

Regards,
Mark
