Those are not the wires you’re looking for you need to unscrew the left and right bottom screw to see the sub base.

@Sabrinahoston30, thanks for posting here in the Community forum and for showing interest in our Nest Thermostats.

Could you tell us how the thermostat wires are connected to your current thermostat? Do you see any terminals they are going to? Also, to clearly check your thermostat wires' compatibility with our Nest Thermostats, send us a photo of your HVAC control board where the other end of the thermostat wires are connected.
