Issue with wiring Two Nest Thermostats - Two Zone - Base board heating system

I have a two zone (upstairs and downstairs) baseboard heating system with old Honeywell Thermostats.  Each Thermostat has two wires.  on the boiler transformer they are labeled C& G and the wire colors at the thermostat are Yellow and white?   I can get them to work but the battery dies and they stop working after a day or so.  I installed the Nest Power adapter and that did not help.  Also tried a Wall plug (transformer) and that did not work either.   Not sure where to go from here.  Any ideas would be appreciated.

Oh no! I'm sorry to hear that your Nest Thermostat battery died after installing it. Are you located in North America or Europe? What type of Nest Thermostat did you install? And could you send us a photo of your previous thermostat wiring configuration so we can take a closer look? You may also use our Compatibility Checker to help you determine if a Nest Thermostat is compatible with your heating and cooling system.
