If you are trying to service a nest that’s been installed in a public library, then you’re probably describing a commercial installation and you would have to have the app and login for the public library. If you’re talking about a private library in a house then we can further help you here. You need to verify the wires that are plugged in to the back plate of the nest thermostat. You say you have yellow, green, red, and black wires. Yellow is typically used on Y1 or Y and this is what calls for Cooling. The Green wire is typically put on the G terminal and this controls the blower fan. Move the FAN auto switch to ON, and the G wire gets energized telling the control board to turn on the blower.  There should be a W terminal with a wire in it. The W is the Heat.  When the thermostat calls for Heat, it energizes the W terminal and that signals the furnace control board to initiate the heating sequence.

You say you yourself installed this Nest thermostat in a Public Library and you cannot get it to link to your personal nest app? Are you an employee of the entity that controls and manages the public library?

I am the library director. Our town is 500 in population.  So alot of the repair is done, by me I have a nest at home, and it was simple.  Last night, I just shut the nest down.  I did not want furnace.   to run all night.  I was also hopnest.jpging that I could have this linked with my home nest, so then I could have access to library temp when I am not in the building.

Your set up is missing a wire on the Y terminal. The Y terminal is what turns on the outdoor compressor. The O/B is the control wire for Heat Pumps; it switches the reversing valve  between Heating/Cooling modes.  The G controls the indoor blower fan.  And the Rh and Rc are the incoming power.
Can you tell more about the public library HVAC system? Is it a split system; separate outdoor and indoor units, is the system a heat pump or is the heating system separate gas furnace or boiler?

This is how the nest is set up.  So do I need to change wire location.

Thank you

What would help us to know how the wires were set up on the old thermostat prior to going to the nest. Now we can backwards figure this out if we need to but you’re gonna have to have access to the HVAC system specifically the indoor air handler if it’s separate. I suspect your nest in the public library controls only a Air Conditioner cooling system. In that case the red wire should be moved to Rc, Green stays on G, and move the Yellow wire on O/B to Y.
