Hello,
I live in Belgium and i plan to buy a nest 3rd gen Thermostat.
I read in EU it comes with the Heatlink in the box.
After searching, the notice says to place the heat link next to the heating system. I have a fuel system.
Actually i have an analog thermostat connected by wires (10-15m of cables) that comes from the cave (my heating system is in a cave). The thermostat is placed in the living room
The wi-fi doesn't pass there, my question is : Can i place the heatlink where the old thermostat was in the living room or does it absolutely need to be next to the heating system ?
THx for your answer.

Hi there and thanks for reaching our Community. To answer your question, the Heat Link will need to be connected to the boiler, so it's best to have it close to it.

There already is a 2 wires connection in the living room, can i not use those ? I dont capt WiFi in the cave. Is it à problem to have the heat link not next to the heating system ?

If the Heat Link is wired to the boiler, you can wire it up in the living room. Just bear in mind that being a long cable distance, it may cause unexpected behavior.

Hello, no thx, i had my answer and i will buy it when i can. I'll try with the way i explained, replacing the old thermostat with the heat link and the connecting the nest at another place.
Thx for you help !
