We have 2 Nest Thermostats. Both have previously lost internet for a few mins until we reconnect.
Both have now totally lost connection. Have tried resetting, tried restarting. Renamed the SSID in the router for the 5Ghz band, temporarily turning off the 5GHz band, manually typing in the network name and password. We have also tried seeing if it would find our phone to use as a hotspot.
Neither nest is finding any internet whatsoever.
Have tried calling the helpline, spent 1.5 hours on call and they only suggested doing a full reset which I had already done. Not useful having to redo things you know don’t work!!
We feel we have tried a lot more than the “average” user.
Any suggestions would be helpful, but personally think we require new thermostats.

Same thing happened to me two weeks ago. They said it’s an issue with the device. I wonder if it’s a software issue though. I received a refurbished replacement and that one doesn’t work at all.

Same thing happened to us today. We lost power shortly & never came back on nest. We have tried all recommendations including hard restart & still no luck. We have 2nd generation thermostat. Do you have same generation?

Ours is 3rd generation. Looks like they have not solved the problem in the newer generation

Hello folks,,
I'm sorry to hear about the persistent connectivity issues you're facing with your Nest Thermostats. I understand when the standard troubleshooting steps don't yield positive results. Given the extensive efforts you've already put in, it seems you've covered a wide range of potential solutions.
If a full reset hasn't resolved the problem and you're still unable to establish a connection, it might be worth exploring a few additional steps.
Let us know how it goes.
Best regards,
Mark
