Lost nest temperature sensor

albieback
Community Member

I moved to a house where the last occupant had installed a nest thermostat and 3 temp sensors. However, I could not find one of the three sensors.

The thermostat is already configured to my Google account, and the 2 sensors are added to it.

Is there a way to locate the "missing" sensor? Like maybe a network scanner or something on such low level?

@Jake There are a few people including myself you don’t mount the temperature centers because moving them around and around is somewhat helpful when your first checking the best placement we recently moved a bunch of furniture and miss placed one of the nest temperature centers I would like to know how to find it there are a number of ways to find a Bluetooth items using Bluetooth proximity added soaping the nest would have a feature to find it

I have the same problem. Is there a way to find the sensor?

We did not find it, bought new to return  nest to Costco and went back to Honeywell with an upgrade to the T10

Honeywell Home Honeywell THX321WFS2001W T10 Pro Smart Thermostat with RedLINK, White https://a.co/d/dg5xK2Z

it controls humidity with lower air temperature at thermostat and uses motion to prioritize rooms

we tile the sensors to easily find them

Yes, we are still having trouble.  None of us have been able to figure out how to find a lost temperature sensor.  It would be nice if there were a way to make it beep.

Same problem here. The sensor is connected to the Nest thermostat. Do I have to walk around the house with a giant hairdryer to find it?

underrated comment!! 🤣🤣
