Lost nest thermostat password

I lost my nest thermostat password, locked out. It does not give an option to retrieve lost password. The nest app does neither , stuck.

If you are talking about the PIN set on your thermostat, using the NEST APP you can unlock the thermostat.  

Anyone who has access to your home can use the
Nest app to unlock your Nest thermostat. You won't need
the PIN.

Note: To unlock your Nest thermostat with the Nest app,
it must be online. If your Nest thermostat is locked, offline,
and you don't have the PIN, please contact customer support for help.

Follow these steps to unlock your Nest thermostat
with the Nest app:

  1. Tap the Nest thermostat you'd like to unlock.
  2. Tap the Settingsicon in the top right corner.
  3. Scroll to the bottom of the menu and tap Unlock.

The thermostat got  disconnected/offline and it will not accept the password/pin

Your only option now is to contact Google Nest Customer service. They will need a picture of the QR code on the back of the thermostat.  The then generate unique software to send to you.  Using a PC you will connect the thermostat with a USB cable, launch the software and it will factory reset the thermostat.
