Lost thermostat on Google home

BajaKerry

Been using 3 thermostats in this house for a while. Also have another house on the account. Lost one thermostat recently but it is still connected to WiFi and working manually, just dropped off the Google home app. Software is up to date. Any ideas?

@BajaKerry

Are you sure you are accessing the correct Google Nest "home/structure"? Has the Nest Learning Thermostat disappeared from both the Google Nest app and the Google Home app? If it's present in the Google Nest app but not the Google Home app, is the thermostat assigned to a "room" in the Google Nest app?

Hello folks,

I wanted to stop by and see how I could help.

Thanks for assisting here, @MplsCustomer.

@BajaKerry, How's it going? Still need our help? I found a helpful article on how to switch home structures that might help. Please let us know if that helps.

Best regards,
Mark

No that doesn't help. I already have two homes and can switch between them successfully. The problem is that one thermostat just dropped off. It says it is online but I cant see it on the Nest app or the Google home app.

Hi BajaKerry,

I'm sorry to hear that you still can't see your thermostat on both apps, and I appreciate that you have already taken those steps. Let's sort this out.

Could you tell us what type of Nest Thermostat you have? Here's a guide to determining which thermostat you have. Also, please check the thermostat's settings to see if it is connected to an account or not.

Keep me posted..

Thanks,

Mark

I think it’s a 2nd gen learning thermostat. How do I check to see if it’s connected to an account? Thx

Hello BajaKerry.

Let's find out and see if it's connected to an account. Please follow these steps:

  1. On your thermostat device. Go to Settings > Nest App.
    1. You should see if it shows an account connected.
  2. If it is, please check for any available structures in the Nest or Google Home apps. Here's your guide to switching home structures in the Nest app and on the Google Home app.

Let me know if that helps.

Thanks,

Mark

Hi there,

Regards,

Mark
