Low battery

I had the furnace turned off at the panel over the summer - and when I turned on the breaker / power my thermostat shows low battery. Question, is the battery in the thermostat rechargeable?  Will it recharge over night?

The new Nest Thermostat has batteries that need to be replaced.  I believe the other types have rechargeable.
