Lowest Eco cooling temperature too high

RARe
Community Member

The 76 degree minimum Eco cooling temperature is too high. (Heating maximum is fine). It takes hours to cool down again when we get home. Why do you have preset minimum and maximum temperatures built in. The owners should have complete control over all set points.

Yes! It’s ridiculous! I have to set it everyday and place it on hold and set the fan every day! I am not impressed!

The fan is another issue. I like to run it 24x7 even when the heat or cool is off. Can’t find a way to do that.

Can you provide an update to let me control the ECO minimum and maximum set points?  Also a way to keep the fan running when the system is not set to heat or cool. I like to continually circulate and clean the air.
Thanks!

Do you see a solution for my problem in the link provided?  Again 76 is too hot on a hot day. It takes hours to cool to 73 those days.  If you find a solution please copy and paste that to a reply.
Thanks!

Hey RARe,

I wanted to jump in, and see if I could be of any help. I found an article with some troubleshooting steps for strange cooling behavior. Please let me know if that helps resolve your issue, or if you are still running into the problem.

Hi Jake,

Thanks for trying to help. My system is not that old. It works fine maintaining set temperatures. It’s an older house with little insulation in the walls.  So on 90+ degree days if you set the thermostat or let ECO set it to the minimum set point of 76 degrees it takes many hours to cool to my normal set point of 73. I would be ok with 74 or 75 minimum for ECO but the system doesn’t support that. Why don’t users have full control over ECO set points?

Thanks!

Hey RARe,

I understand that this is not an ideal situation. I found an article with some details on the Eco mode. Looking at the article, the lowest temperature you can set is 76 degrees. I am sorry about that. Please let me know if the article helps provide you with more details, or if you have any questions from here.

Best regards,

Jake

You should turn ECO off and set a schedule to not go above whatever number you choose or set it to begin cooling long enough before you return home that it’s not an issue.

How do I turn off the Eco? It drives me insane, I am up all night long moving the temp down from 78 or 82. It is crazy 🤪
