Manual Mode Overrides the Thermostat

for some reason the 'manual mode' seems to override the nest thermostat. i am not sure why. I have pressed the central button in for 10 seconds. All seems to be fine, but after a while goes into manual mode. i press to end on the app, but after a while goes into manual mode again.

any suggestions on how to stop this would be helpful

Could you please tell us more about the manual mode you're referring to? Is this about adjusting the temperature or controlling it over the app? Also, what Nest Thermostat model is it?
