Migrating Nest to Google home

I am trying to migrate my nest account to works with google home and I get to the point where it asks you to 'Allow' but the following message comes up 'Oops! we've encountered an error.  please try again'.  But I can't see what I'm doing wrong and I need to set up my Nest thermostat.

I don't know if this is it but when I started this migration I had the same error and it was because the email I used for my Nest was not a gmail. I had to login to setting on Nest and change my email to a gmail and then it worked. 

I hope that helps and I with Google error message would simply tell me that.
