Moving house and transferring thermostat control

  • Hi I have a home nest account migrated to google ..I am proposing to sell my house with the thermostat currently linked to it.
    what actions do I need to take to transfer the account to the new owner and just as importantly what does he ( the new owner ) have to do in order to accept it. He appears not to have a Google account .

thanks for any instruction or tips

Below is a link to Google Nest's moving guide. You will need to remove the thermostat from the Google Home app while still on your current Wi-Fi network. I've seen other posts from users recommending that you leave the factory reset to the new owner, so settings on the thermostat aren't reset till the new owner is ready.
