My Nest Thermostat wants a PIN number that I don't know

My Nest is requiring I enter a PIN to access it. I don't remember the PIN and all of these articles talk about a Nest App that is not the one I have. There is no unlock option on my app. I need to reset my PIN

No problem, you can unlock it using the Google Home app as well.

1. Open the Home app > tap the name of your Nest thermostat > Settings cog.
2. Tap Unlock > confirm that you want to unlock your thermostat.
3. Once your Nest thermostat has been unlocked, you can lock it again and set a new PIN.
