My brand new learning thermostat is beeping periodically. It does not appear to be in any kind of pattern. 30 minutes can go by with no beep but then it could beep 3 times in the next 20 minutes. Please advise.

Hi Christopher,

Apologies for the delay in response, and sorry to hear about your chirping thermostat. It can be confusing to decode all of Nest's lights/sounds at first! I'm happy to help you out with this issue.

If your Nest Protect is chirping, it means something needs your attention. It won't stop until you resolve the issue. Check the Nest app or press the button on Nest Protect to learn why it's chirping.

Are there any clues in the device status in-app, or does it tell you anything useful when pressing the button?

Here is a guide to all of Protect's sound chirps for reference, depending on the specific pattern of chirps your Protect is making.

I hope this helps! Let me know if you need help with anything else.

I installed mine today and it's doing the same thing; sounds like an alarm buzzing sound that makes 3 alerts in a row every so often.

Nothing shows up on the Google Home app. I changed batteries, checked the wires, nothing resolves it and I can't find a solution on Google.

Anyone else had this problem and gotten it figured out? Extremely annoying to say the least.

Hello sarahrene2010,

Thank you for taking the time to let us know about your inquiry. I'd be happy to take a look at this for you.

This is most likely a power-related concern that could cause the Nest Thermostat to produce a beep sound. To ensure your safety and the compatibility of your HVAC systems, could you please share with us photos of your thermostat's wiring? Also, what's the make and model of your HVAC system?

I'll look forward to your response.

Regards,

Mark

Thank you so much, I ended up getting it figured out!

Hi sarahrene2010,

Awesome! I appreciate you updating us on your efforts to address your concern and find a fix. It looks like we can consider this one complete, so I will lock the thread within 24 hours unless I can help out with anything else.

Regards,

Mark
