N260 error after connect power connector

Dommmy13

I installed the power adapter and it is still not detected. After playing with it for hours I accidentally left the C wire from the condenser disconnected. Now my nest detected the power adapter. I realized there was a problem when my outside unit would not turn on. When I reconnected that wire, my thermostat no longer detected the power adapter.

Hi Dommmy13,

Thanks for reaching out here in the Google Nest Community.

I'd like to check a couple of things for us to further isolate the issue. The only time we are going to connect a Nest Power Connector is when your HVAC unit doesn't have a C wire. It's possible that the connection from the Nest Thermostat and your AC unit is being disrupted by the C wire, thus, getting the connector not being detected.

Check out this link to know more about Nest Power Connector installation.

Let me know how it goes by replying to this thread.

Best regards,

Ryan

Ryan, to clarify when I say c wire in my original statement I was referring to the condenser wire as seen in the wiring diagram below. My thermostat does not have a C wire.

Hey Dommmy13,

Thanks for the reply.

I'd like to know what happens when you reinsert the wire after you try doing a complete reset on your Nest Thermostat? Also, try to re-strip the wire coming in to the Rc or Rh and test if it is going to detect it.
