NEST THERMOSTAT NOT CONNECTING TO THE WIFI

rcon

Hello,

The Nest thermostast stopped connecting to the wifi and now it can't find any wifi to connect to.  I have done everythng that it's suggested on Nest articles, forum trhead, reset to factory settings and they don't resolve the issue.  The thermostat has worked fine for over a 10 month period then suddenly it stop connecting.  I have 2 other Nest thermostats and they all work fine, even when I connect them in the place where this thermostat can't find the wifi.  Any assistance you can provide is greatly apprciated.

Thank you,

@rcon

Which Nest thermostat do you have?

How is it wired?

@Patrick_Caezza,

The thermostat I have is a Nest Learning Thermostat 3rd generation.  It's wired as follows:

Yellow wire to Y1, Green to G, Red to Rc, White to W1 and Blue to C.

The thermostat works fine if charged but because it can't find any wifi network, it keeps losing it's charge.

Hi there,

Thanks for reaching out and for being a step ahead of us — I'm sorry for the delay. Could you please try to go to the Quick View menu of your Nest Learning Thermostat then highlight the gear icon for settings and check if you'll see any messages or code?

I appreciate your help, @Patrick_Caezza.

Best,

Jenelyn

The error was W5.  I returned the unit to the store.
