My NEST controller is turning the boiler on and calling for hot water (not rads) at the same time in the evening when it should be off. I normally only have water Heating on for an hour in the morning, and heating is off completely as it's Summer. The NEST app, states everything is off even though NEST has turned on the boiler. Seems to happen same time every night. Is it true that NEST needs the boiler to heat water for a minimum of 2 hours a day of Legionella protection is on, or is it just a malfunctioning BEST Gen 3

Hi Pgaudit,
Thanks for reaching out. A few questions: do you see any messages or codes on your thermostat or in the app? Also, in what states are you located? Please check your thermostat Energy History to see what your thermostat is doing previously. You can visit this support article on how to check Energy History in the thermostat or in the Nest app.
Best,
Jenelyn

Hi thankyou, I think I have sorted out the problem. The thermostat was only set to come on one hour twice a day. I read when the thermostat is in legionella protection mode it needs the system to heat for at least two consecutive hours every 48 hours, which I wasn't allowing the system to do.
