Neat C-wire above 30v

I have a Nest Thermostat that requires a c-wire. When I connected it detects the c-wire and there are no problems

However, I noticed that the power it provides is a bit high. From the power info screen it reads the following:

Vin: 36.301

Lin: 385

PS C-385

The Voltage and Lin seem very high for what is recommended. Is this a problem?

Hi Dpalczewski,

Thanks for posting. I'd love to know more about this. Could you confirm the voltage of your HVAC system? The Nest Thermostat is compatible with 24V systems.

Best,

Mel

It's 24v, the transformer is 24v, but for some reason the nest is reading 36v.

Hi Dpalczewski,

Thanks for the response. Your power readings look normal. The normal reading of Vin is 29 to 42V when your system is not running. The PS C should be greater than 200mA for stable power.

Thanks,

Edward
