Need Help! Best reading 6-10 degrees lower than actual

Over the last week, our Nest has not ran the AC in our house in the middle of summer. It’s feels very hot in the house, yet the Nest is reading 68.  The cooling setpoint is at 74 so it never kicks on. Has anyone experienced this issue and is there a way to fix the actual temp readout on the unit? We have verified with another temperature device that the Nest is wrong. Please help!!!!

Hello @JoeSpad11,

Thanks for posting in the community.
I understand your frustration with the Nest thermostat not turning on the AC. It's important to have a comfortable home temperature, especially during the summer. I appreciate your effort.

To help troubleshoot this issue, please try the following:

  • What type of Nest thermostat do you have?
  • Do you have other active Nest thermostats? If yes: "Do they show the same issue?
  • When did the issue start?
  • Have you tried any troubleshooting steps?
  • What is the brand/model of the HVAC/heat pump?
  • Any recent changes to the HVAC system?
  • Any recent power outages or power issues?
  • Do you get an error message on the screen?
  • Which country are you in?

I need you the previous information to provide you with the right steps. In the meantime, please follow the steps below:

  1. Double-check that the thermostat's temperature sensor is positioned correctly and isn't obstructed by any objects.
  2. Power cycle your Nest thermostat, router, and HVAC system.

Please follow the steps above; let me know how it goes. Thank you.

Regards,
Jorge
