Need a trim plate for a current gen LEARNING thermostat

We have been looking at replacing the thermostats in our home with the latest learning model from Nest, but we think we might need to cover up some fairly large openings behind our current thermostats.  The oval trim kits I see on the Nest site look like the proper solution, except they say they are specifically ONLY for the Nest thermostat, and not the learning thermostat!?  Seems weird they’d make this accessory for only one of their lower cost models, and specifically exclude their most expensive model.  Is there really no trim kit at all for the learning thermostat?

The third generation of the nest learning thermostat comes with a plate that can hide some of the holes from the old thermostats
