Hi
I have just bought a second hand 3rd gen thermostat.
I have connected it to the supply but just get home on the display.
how can I get to the reset button to reset the device as new?

Hey Andyedgeley,
Thanks for reaching out and sorry for the delayed response.
Here's a step by step guide on how to reset your Nest Learning Thermostat: https://bit.ly/3moipVu

Thank you for the reply.
my tech savvy son managed to eventually do a factory reset.
I live with my old mum (86) and wanted a second Thermostat for the other side of the Bungalow. ( she always complaining when things turn cool).
I had previously read that you could use up to 4 thermostats around a property.
I have subsequently learned that this is not possible to a shared Heat Link. So a little frustrated at the miss information?
Would connecting a second heat link to the same boiler be possible? That is if I could get my hands on one?

Hi there @Andyedgeley, thanks for letting us know. You can link 2 Heat Links to the same boiler only if you have zoned heating with a heating valve for each separate zone, but for that you'll need 2 thermostats. Only one thermostat can be connected to only one Heat Link. Let us know if you need more help.

Thank you for the reply, DragosC.
Will have to think on some more. Maybe down the wifi controlled radiator thermostat Avenue.
shame that Nest manufacturers never thought on this situation some more. Probably a little more software coding required.
maybe I should wait for 4th generation thermostats, now the 3rd iteration are discontinued.

Hi, I wanted to check in. Do you need any further assistance? If so, make sure to let me know.

Hi AlexD
thank you for your kind offer of further assistance.
at the moment I am thinking of a work around . Ergo the second heat link?
but alas this will require inclusion of a second zone valve and justification of that expense?

Yes, you are correct. When controlling, or wanting to control multiple zones, you require not only to have separate devices, each with their own Heat Link and display but also a zone valve for each zone. Depending on how the system is at the location this could indeed be a large undertaking.
