Hi,

My thermostat outer display got dropped on the floor and seems to have an crack. I placed it back and the display showed for sometime and later it stopped to display.

I can see light flashing yellow but no display of temperature.

Should i be replacing it ? Let me know.

Hello Chandum4u,

I'm sorry to hear about the issue with your Nest Thermostat display. It seems like the drop may have caused some internal damage, leading to the crack and subsequent display malfunction. The flashing yellow light suggests that there may still be some power reaching the unit, but the damage could be preventing it from functioning properly.

Considering the circumstances, could you provide us with a picture of your thermostat showing where the crack is? To insert an image in a post:

  1. Reply to this post.
  2. Click Insert Image. (camera icon)
  3. Choose an image source location.
  4. Follow the on-screen instructions.

I look forward to your response.

Regards,
Mark

I rechecked and don't think its an crack it seems to be the design on the lower part. Attached image.

Hi there,

I appreciate you taking the time to reevaluate the situation. It's good to hear that upon closer inspection, you don't believe it's a crack but rather a part of the design on the lower section. Sometimes, intricate details in design can create optical illusions or be mistaken for imperfections. Here are the technical specifications for the Google Nest Learning Thermostat.

If you have any further concerns or questions, let me know. But you can always create a new thread for any future inquiries—we're always here to help!

Best regards,
Mark

Seems like its not working any more and checked with support they couldnt figure out aswell. As its out of warranty they mentioned to purchase new one.

Hi Chandum4u,

Oh no! While it's unfortunate that your thermostat is out of warranty, purchasing a new one might be the best option to ensure reliable performance. Can you share with me your support ID number so I can check how the conversation went and might look for other options for you?

I look forward to your response.

Best,
Mark

Sorry I don't have the Support ID number. Called using my phone number 2037220376.
