Nest 3rd won’t turn on

Nest working several years until yesterday, now will not display anything; light blinks green continually. Hold button 10 seconds, light cycles red-orange-flashing green again. Removing from wall no effect. Replacing internal battery with new, no effect. AC works with previous tstat. Why can’t i reset this Nest?

  • When did the issue start?
  • Did you try charging the Nest Thermostat before replacing the internal battery?
  • Did you check if the Nest Thermostat was receiving enough power from the HVAC?
  • Did you see any error codes or messages on the Nest Thermostat?

Note: Our recommendation is not to replace the thermostat's internal battery, as doing so can harm your Nest thermostat, your HVAC system, and void your Nest Thermostat's warranty.
