Nest 4th Generation Learning lights up but does nothing

Hi all. We are installing a Nest 4th Generation Learning thermostat. With the way we currently have it wired, the thermostat turns on and syncs to the phone just fine. However when you change the temperature neither the air conditioning nor the heat will come on.

Pic 1 is how we have it wired currently

Pic 2 is the inside of our old thermostat

Pic 3 is how we doin the wires once the old thermostat was removed

Pic 4 is the furnace panel

The blue and brown wires are not currently in use. We have also tried the red wire in the Rc slot but that changed nothing.  And when we put the black in the * slot nothing happened.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

The wiring that you show on your original thermostat is not compatible with any of the Nest Thermostat's.

Your Furnace is compatible, but it appears that a device is installed between it and the thermostat that alters how it is controlled. You need to find that device.
