Nest A/C red power wire down

Power shuts off no voltage to nest. Then it turns on for short time - off again.

Check the drain at the furnace/air handler and see if it is blocked. A safety switch there will shut your system down if the water backs up.

Also, ensure the filter door and all covers are correctly closed, as there is also a safety switch on them.

Which Nest thermostat do you have?

How is the thermostat wired? Is there a C wire installed?

The Voc & the Vin are both at .11. The battery voltage is 3.57

Ya think the furnace is not charging the Nest?

just kicked off again. Seems to cool off just enough might get to 77ish. Does it have a hard line temp max/min?

@Tm38

Ya, the 3.57 battery voltage tells me you have a power problem.

If no C wire is installed, you must install one to solve the problem. Check to see if you have a spare wire in the thermostat cable. If you do, you can use it to create a C wire by connecting it to the C terminal on both ends. If there isn't a spare wire, you will then need to install a Google Nest Power Connector.

no c wire.  But the A/C worked for the past 3 months no issues!  The  red electronic indicator goes off and turns red. Then 20 minutes later turns and and goes clear.  For a few minutes.  Thx for checking in.

Yup, the thermostats tend to work just fine for a time, and they start showing issues when there is no C wire installed.

Right on the money.  After it gets 20 minutes of low voltage it works for 3 minutes.  Fans are on!  We’ll survive.  Landlord was notified, crickets!

I had the same issue. Plugged the red wire in more and the message went away. Now it’s blowing heat on the cool setting.
