Nest App stops work when finishing setup

Neat app stops working (freezes up) once the Nest Thermostat has been added to my home. Specifically, the app freezes when I answer the question “where did you put this thermostat”.  Nothing works on the app beyond this point. Of note, this is the 2nd Nest Learning Thermostat Gen3 being added to the house.

Try waiting for a VERY long time. Worked for me while I was on the phone with support.

Gen 3 Nest Thermostat, iPhone 12, iOS 16.5.2
The same thing happens for me. I waited several hours. The thermostat was installed by technician along with new Lenox AC unit.

Did anyone find a solution for this?  Mine is freezing in the exact spot.

Hi folks, 

 

Thanks for bringing this to our attention, and I'm sorry to hear about the situation. Please follow the steps below:

 

  1. Uninstall the Nest app, then reinstall it again.
  2. Sign in to your account.
  3. When you encounter the same situation, wait for 5 minutes, then check if it will proceed.
