Nest Eco Mode

Hello! I recently moved into a house with a Nest Thermostat and everything seems to work great except one problem I’m not sure how to fix. I have a schedule preset in the app to start heating my house to 71 at 8AM and so far everyday I have woken up and checked the app around 9, it says it’s on Eco Mode and I’m Away. I’ve had to manually change it to home to start the heat, but is there anyway to fix this?

Thanks for reaching out. A few questions: what type of Nest Thermostat do you have? You can visit this link to check what type of thermostat you have. Also, do you have relatives who have access to the account?

Hi!

It’s either gen 2 or 3 of the learning thermostat and we got this house from our LandLord as we are renters, so we are not sure. It seems like we are the only ones accessing the account at this time.

Hi folks,

 

Thanks for your response. Could you please go to Home/Away Assist settings in the Nest app and check the home’s location? Edit the address if needed. Also, verify what products are contributing to Home/Away status.

 

You can follow the guides below: 
 

  • In the Nest App, go to Settings and then Home Away Assist and then What decides if you’re home.
  • In the Nest App, toggle the Home/Away button, then check if the products are working as intended.
