Nest Gen 3 Thermostat shows offline in IOS App & Google Home while still connected to WiFi

This appears to be a common issue but I've not found a reply that offers a solution.

1. One of three Generation 3 Nest Learning Thermostats in my home, all of which are on the same mesh network, shows offline in the Nest IOS App (V 5.67.0.6) and Google Home. All three thermostats were purchased and installed at the same time over 2 years ago.

2. I can ping the "offline" thermostat's IP address displayed on the thermostat's "Network" page from the Windows Command line with the following results: Packets: Sent = 4, Received = 3, Lost = 1 (25% loss), Approximate round trip times in milli-seconds: Minimum - 3ms, Maximum - 1173ms, Average = 414ms.

3. The offline thermostat  is connected to an ASUS RT-AX92U tri-band router (main router in a three router mesh network) on the 2.4GHz band - signal strength 84. The thermostat is less than 15 feet from the router with no walls or doors between them. Power readings: Battery: 3.752 V;  Voc 40.63 V;  Vin 35.62 V; lin 40 mA (i)

4. Resetting the thermostat and router has had intermittent success bringing the thermostat back online in the ISO Nest App and Google Home although when it reconnects it usually only works for a few minutes before going offline again.

5. I have had intermittent issues with some of the other two Gen 3 Nest thermostats but the one mentioned here is offline in the IOS Nest app and Google Home well over 50 to 70% of the time without ever disconnecting from the WiFi network.

I am having same problem with my nest app disconnecting from the network. I am also using an ASUS mesh router setup. The thermostat itself does not have this problem - it is only the app - both on my iPhone and in windows.  Did you solve this problem?

I have an older ASUS RT-AC86U router as a node in my mesh network, bound the thermostats to it and have not lost connection between the IOS Nest App and the thermostats in over two weeks now.  I've read some articles that indicate some older IOT (Internet of Things) devices do not work well with the newer AX (WiFi 6) standard used by the RT-AX92U routers.  My assumption is I could have added another AC (WiFi 5) router as an access point with a different SSID and linked these devices to it as well but this was easier since the mesh was already set up.  Hopefully someone with better technical knowledge will reply with more information.
