Nest Heatlink Error H72 /E4 following charge

Hi

My Nest has randomly started showing a H72 error and I have done the usual checks on the following thread;

https://www.googlenestcommunity.com/t5/Nest-Thermostats/Heatlink-not-working-H72/m-p/18149

Basically it seems that the Heatlink is not working and does not have power. On charging the nest via USB I have attached it to the base station and it is now showing an E4 error. The nest and heatline have worked fine, with the current thermostat having worked without issues for c.6 months.

In terms of troubleshooting:

  • Does anything happen if you press its button for 30 seconds?   Nothing
  • In some cases the boiler will have an additional isolation switch which can turn off the power to both the Heat Link and the boiler. Can you try switching that off/on again to see if anything changes?  No change.
  • Make sure the breakers are on or the fuse board hasn't tripped.  Nothing has tripped.

Moreover, to have a better view over each of your cases, please help us with some answers:

  1. How often do you experience the issue?  First time
  2. How long has your thermostat been installed for?  Original thermostat c.1.5 years. Thermostat replaced following damage to screen.
  3. What colour is the Heat Link LED?  No Lights at all
  4. What is showing on the Nest thermostat display?  H72 initially. Following microusb charge of nest an E4 error
  5. Have you had any power cuts recently?  No
  6. Have you had any work done on your electrical or heating systems recently?  No
  7. How many zones are present in the setup?  One
  8. Is there power present to your boiler?  Yes

I have also completed the form at https://bit.ly/3oVDg4g

Can anyone help please?

Thanks

Chris

What is the best way to contact google?

I have tried calling (no answer, long waits), and the chat service never seems to be available. Wouldn't usually mind a little wait but it is February and I cant switch the heating on.

Hello again. Just checking in. Did you manage to get in touch with Google Nest support?

It's been a while since this thread was last updated so I'll go ahead and lock this thread. If you're still experiencing problems, please feel free to start a new thread and we'll be happy to help.
