Nest Learning Thermostat (3rd Gen.) doesn't run the fan ONLY in spite of wire in 'G' connector.

I installed a Nest Learning Thermostat (3rd Gen.) with a wire in the 'G' connector. I see the option to test the fan. But when I execute it the fan won't run. Also, if I try to run the fan from Fan icon in Quick View Menu, then it will trigger the AC along but won't run independently. Any inputs or assistance on this?

Hi folks,

Thanks for reaching out. I'm sorry for the delay. I'd like to take a closer look at it. Could you please share the photo of the wires that are connected to your HVAC control board and to your Nest Thermostat? Also, please check your thermostat wiring diagram.

You can follow this guide:

  1. Go to your thermostat Quick View menu.
  2. Go to Settings.
  3. Look for Equipment.
  4. Ensure that the G terminal is not grayed out.

Best,

Jenelyn
