Nest Learning Thermostat Issue with Pulse Furnace

CaliJohn
Community Member

I installed a 3 wire (Rc, W, and G) Nest Learning 3rd Gen Thermostat yesterday and it tested fine. We have a 2006 gas fired pulse furnace.

This morning the furnace restarted it's first stage several times and never was able to produce heat.

I reinstalled the White Rodgers original thermostat and it worked fine. It has a jumper between Rc and Rh.

Any suggestions to get the Nest thermostat working correctly would be greatly appreciated.

Hi CaliJohn,

Thanks for reaching out. I'm sorry to hear that you're having an issue with your Nest Thermostat. I'd love to know more about this. Could you check the power reading of your Nest Thermostat? You can find this info by going to Settings > Technical Info > Power.

Thanks,

Edward

Hi Guys,

I ended up running a common wire and the issue went away.

It's probably good advice to just do that on any install since it's very simple to do.
